OUR STORY
Recyco is a Latina family owned business for over 35 years based in the state of Arizona. Breaking industry barriers, we strive to promote a cleaner environment by reducing the amount of materials that are introduced into the landfills and road side ditches. Recyco partners with local, national, and global businesses in the responsible reuse and recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Recyco also provides volunteer hours for schools and community outreach on the importance of recycling and the city-wide clean up of Tucson and surrounding communities. We provide several recycling centers for various communities’ recycling programs and are very active in the Tucson Clean & Beautiful and Tucson Earth Day organizations.
For four decades, Recyco Inc. has stood as a pioneering, family-led green industry in Tucson, recognized as the city's first Latino-owned recycling center. As a small Legacy Business, their core mission has been to divert scrap metal from landfills, building a powerful 40-year environmental legacy.
Recyco's impact extends far beyond its recycling operations. The company is deeply embedded in the community, with its employees actively shaping local policy by representing Ward 1 on the City of Tucson's Commission on Climate, Energy, and Sustainability. They have been instrumental in establishing and supporting zero-waste and recycling programs for major community pillars like the Reid Park Zoo, Friends of PACC, the Hermitage Cat Shelter, and the Vail School District, in addition to supporting nonprofits like BICAS, Flowers and Bullets and FUGA, Familias Unidas Ganando Accesibilidad.
This commitment continues through new initiatives, including their ongoing collaborations and the "Million Can Recycling Contest" with Recycling is Like Magic. Furthermore, Recyco fosters a unique family atmosphere, with many second-generation employees now carrying the torch.
In recognition of their significant contributions as a cornerstone of Tucson's green economy, Recyco has received accolades from both Tucson Mayor Regina Romero and Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, cementing their role as a vital and respected community institution.
